Junior Trader / Trader – Centralised Execution Desk

Responsibilities

  • Execute client orders accurately and efficiently under Senior Traders' supervision across approved trading platforms and execution venues
  • Support trading activity across equities, fixed income, FX, structured products, and other investment products offered by the Group
  • Monitor orders throughout their lifecycle and ensure timely execution, allocation and settlement
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions and communicate relevant developments to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate trade records, execution logs, and trading reports
  • Support the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc management reports
  • Ensure all trades are properly captured within OMS and related internal systems
  • Liaise with Operations to ensure timely settlement and resolution of trade-related issues
  • Support Relationship Managers and Account Managers in servicing existing clients and onboarding new business
  • Develop relationships with brokers, counterparties, custodians, and execution venues
  • Participate in testing and implementation of trading technology, including OMS, Client Portal, and DMA platforms
  • Ensure all trading activity complies with MiFID II, Best Execution requirements, and internal policies

Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree in STEM preferred; Finance, Economics, and Business also considered
  • Previous experience within a brokerage, investment firm, bank, asset manager, or trading environment
  • Understanding of financial markets and trading instruments, including equities, bonds, FX, and investment products
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of MiFID II and Best Execution principles
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, OMS platforms, DMA platforms, or similar trading systems
  • Additional languages are advantageous
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evening shifts up to 10 PM Malta time to support US market hours
